MEET MICHAEL
Owner of The Lakes Kitchen & Food Market
If you’ve been to The Lakes, chances are you’ve met Michael.

With over 25 years in the food industry, Michael has one simple goal — to make people happy through good food and good company. For him, food is about bringing family and friends together to share moments that matter.
​
It all started as a teenager working at his Uncle’s deli - where he first fell in love with the buzz of a busy kitchen and the joy of feeding people. Since then, he’s done just about everything in the food world: cooking, catering and learning from some of the pioneers of food retail.
​
But Michael is not just the owner - he’s also behind the counter serving, cooking up traditional pasta sauce from family recipes, whipping up delicious tiramisu, stocking shelves and discussing with suppliers new products to bring into the store.
​
With the support of his wife and children both behind the scenes and working in store too, Michael’s vision is to make The Lakes a place people love coming to - somewhere welcoming, serving good food and with a warm community vibe.
